With a death starts a new beginning...
Eighteen-year-old Esmerelda thinks she’s just a normal girl, but all of that changes the day of her mom’s funeral, when a warlock, intent on using her special powers, kidnaps her. Powers she didn’t know existed. Thrown in the middle of a magical battle, Es struggles to learn her magic while fleeing both vampires and warlocks, at the same time, hunting for the witches that can help defeat her adversary. The only problem is that they are dead.

Thankfully, she has the help of Jarak—her Guardian—who quickly captures her heart, but she wonders if she can win his? Just when she thinks Jarak is the one for her, Ian appears with daggers drawn to save Es from a vampire attack. Ian is cocky and rude, but there is something magnetic about him—something that attracts her to him. With her heart torn between two men, she faces the foes that are out for her blood. Can Es do the unthinkable and awaken them from their graves before time runs out?

The Reaping Spell has weakened her greatest enemy, but now Esmerelda faces a different threat - one that haunts her dreams. To finally defeat Nicholas and end his madness for good, she must travel back to Spain with the help of her powerful friends.

What she doesn’t know is that in his weakness, Nicholas made a deal with the Death Keeper – his soul in exchange for Esmerelda’s life. Worse, she soon learns that the ones she trusted most have become part of her nightmares. The only one she can trust is the man who holds her heart, and together they must fight Nicholas to the death.

Fighting to stay awake so Nicholas can’t find her in sleep, Esmerelda prepares for the battle that will finish this war. One of them must die for her nightmares to end - unless the Death Keeper, with plans of his own for Esmerelda’s soul, gets to her first.

TEASER FROM WOLF DREAM

“Esmerelda, I need your help!” Julie yelled from the front of the plane.
That worried me even more than dying. She never needed—let alone wanted—my help. I ran as fast as I could, jumping over the dead bodies to get to the cockpit.
She looked at me with wide eyes. “He won’t wake up. I don’t know what’s wrong.”
Jarak was there first, grabbing Julie and pulling her out of the way. “Move, Es, I can’t let this happen, not right now. It’s not right.”
I didn’t understand what he meant but moved anyway. Ian was right behind me. “Camilla and Lauren went to take care of the other three breeds and Ailaina went to find a first aid kit to help Lauren.”
I nodded but it all felt so surreal. Was this really happening?
“Damn it, Julie, why’d you have to put them to sleep?” Ian asked.
“Don’t yell at me. I did what I had to do.”
Jarak tried every combination to open the cockpit door but nothing worked. Ian pushed past me to Jarak. “Move over, I got this.” He slammed into the door with his shoulder, creating a small but otherwise useless dent. Turbulence jerked the plane as Ian hit it again.
“Hey, man, I don’t see what you’re trying to do. This door is made to withhold attacks,” Jarak said as he returned to the door.
“Well, wise one, the plane is going down because smarty pants over there put the pilot to sleep and can’t wake the pilot. We,” he used his finger to point at all of us in a circle, “are the only ones awake. So, we need to get in there.”
Hearing Ian confirm my fear of why the plane was descending so fast scared me even more. “Let him try, Jarak.”
“Fine, but what are you gonna do once you get in there? None of us know how to fly a plane.”
“I’ll figure that out, right now we just need to open this door.” Ian plowed into the door again.
“That won’t work,” Camilla said as she neared the cockpit.
Jarak raised his hands in surrender. “I’ve already tried to tell him.”
“Here, let me.” She walked up to the door with a set of keys.
Ian moved back over by me, rubbing his shoulder. “Well, now you show up.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
M.R. Polish was born in Idaho, a long, long, long, maybe not that long time ago.... Writing has always been there for her. Growing up, her mind was filled with stories, some she shared and others she filed away to write down later in life. It wasn't until 2011 that she decided to publish her stories for everyone to enjoy. Her first award and when writing became more than just an idea was in the 5th grade. She won the scary story contest for the school newspaper. It is one story she still has tucked away for memories. Her teacher told her she could be anything she wanted and that she had a talant for writing, being creative and drawing people into her stories. M.R. took that to heart and continued to write, although mostly in secret until recent years.
Now you can find her enjoying life with her family - wrangling her four kids, setting traps in the house with toys for unsuspecting victims (aka, her husband) and writing down all her crazy and fun stories.

"Life is too short to stand by and watch everyone else live your dreams. The bigger the dream, the bigger the adventure!" ~ M.R. Polish

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

What is your name, where were you born and where do you live now?
I write with my initials, M.R. Polish. My first name is Misty, and I don’t care who knows, I just like to keep things separate.

Did it take a long time to get your first book published?
Yes. For my first book, Wolf Spell, it was signed with a small publishing house and it took over a year to get it out. The house closed down two weeks before Wolf Spell was supposed to be released and I was handed all rights back  to my book. I scrambled to get a cover and get all formatting done so I could release on time for everyone that was excited for it.

Do you work another job as well as your writing work?
I am a mom to four kiddos and a wife to a supportive husband. I think that is the biggest job our there. Hahaha

What is the name of your latest book, and if you had to summarize it in less than 20 words what would you say?
Wolf Dream was the last one released. Hmmm… to summarize it…. An epic tale of good vs. evil and where death may not conquer all.  ??? Not sure that did it justice! Arg! That is hard

How long does it usually take you to write a book, from the original idea to finishing writing it?
About 5 to 8 months. Depending on how fast the words flow. Ageless Sea took 5 months, the book  (Change of Possession) I am getting ready to release (November 3rd)took 5 months, Wolf Dream took 6 months, Mark of the Dragon (which I co-wrote with my dad Bill Morgan) took a year, and Wolf Spell took 1 year.

Which of your books were easier/harder to write than the others?
Ummmm…. I think Change of Possession was the hardest. It is a romance suspense and its not my normal genre. I wanted to try it, but I will say to all my fantasy fans, DO NOT WORRY, fantasy is my favorite and I will not stop writing it lol!

What can we expect from you in the future?  ie More books of the same genre? Books of a different genre?
Like I said, Change of Possession is a romantic suspense and is not paranormal or fantasy, which is my normal genre. I am writing the last book in the Wolf Trilogy, working on Endless Shores (the 2nd in the Ageless Series) and many others! (Including my dad and I are working on the 2nd dragon book too!)

Do you have a certain routine you have for writing? ie You listen to music, sit in a certain chair?
While writing, yes, I have to listen to music that sets the mood of the scene. I have a Spotify playlist for ALL my books. You can always go and listen to what I listened to while writing your favorite book.  I also LOVE to hear from my readers when they send me songs they think remind them of my stories or characters and a lot of them end up on the playlists because they are right and they totally help!

Do you have anybody read your books and give you reviews before you officially release them?ie. Your partner, children, friends, reviewers you know?
I haven’t done it for reviews….yet. LOL I like to have people read them so I can have some feedback before it goes out for the world to see. My stories are older YA and NA (adult) but ALL my stories are fade to black scenes only. I don’t do details for sex scenes so my books are pretty clean in that area. My best friend says she can blush reading my work but that’s it.

Do you gift books to readers to do reviews?
I have gifted many books for readers without expecting reviews. I love reviews (good and bad) because they make me happy and stronger.

Do you read all the reviews of your book/books?
Yes. I know some say don’t read them, but I do. I love to see what people thought about my stories. Sometimes it helps me grow as a writer, and other times they make me want to throw a party. Hahaha

Would you ever ask a reviewer to change their review if it was not all positive about your book/books?
No. Definitely not! I appreciate any and ALL reviews. We all have different opinions and views on life, why not stories as well? *Thank you to everyone who has reviewed any of my books!*

How do you come up with the Title and Cover Designs for your book/books?Who designed the Cover of your books?
Titles suck! I work hard for the titles and I say that because they don’t come naturally…. Except Ageless Sea, that one came at once. Jenny Laatsch is my cover designer for all my books except the co-written Mysts of Santerrian Series. She is amazing and if you need a cover designer, I HIGHLY recommend her!

Do you decide on character traits (ie shy, quiet, tomboy girl) before writing the whole book or as you go along?
Both. They start with certain things I want them to have, but as I write, they take on their own personalities and I go with it! Hahaha

Do you basic plot/plan for your book, before you actually begin writing it out? Or do you let the writing flow and see where it takes the story?
Ummmm I have a basic idea of what I want with my stories but really just go off plot points. So I might have 5 things I know I want but I really let the story flow and see where it goes. It is fun yet surprising to even me sometimes!

What is your favourite book and Why?  Have you read it more than once?
The Savage Destiny series by Roseanne F. Bittner. I have read it about twenty times! I read it probably once a year, at least. Hahaha I can read the whole series, then start it over again!

Do you think books transfer to movies well? Which is you favourite/worst  book to movie transfer?
I think they do. As well as they can anyway. It would be hard to put a book that has every detail of every character, scene, ect… into a two hour retelling of it. I hate when they stray away completely and change too many things though.

Do you think children at schools these days are encouraged enough to read? and/or do Imaginative writing?
No. Some teachers encourage to read, but writing seems to have taken a back seat. Although this morning I read a short poem/story my oldest wrote for a school assignment and I was really impressed. Maybe there is hope yet! Hahaha.

Did you read a lot at school and write lots of stories or is being a writer something newer in your life?
I have read since I was really little.  I wrote many stories growing up and I have to say, I am much better now. Hahahahahahaha.

Do you have a treasured book from your childhood? If yes, what is it?
I remember books like: Streams to the River, River to the Sea. Face on the Milk Carton. ALL R.L. Stine books. Number the Stars. Soooo many books that I can’t even remember.

What piece of advice would you give to a new writer?
Never give up!!! You can do it if you set your mind to it. If writing is inside you, a passion that you can feel, then you can do it!
