AUTHOR INTERVIEW - COLLIN MOSHMAN

1. What is your name, where were you born and where do you live now?

My name is Collin Moshman. I was born in Silver Spring, MD. I currently live in Las Vegas, NV.

2. What is the name of your latest book, and if you had to summarize it in less than 20 words what would you say?

The Superuser ($2.99 on Kindle)

A disgraced champion must catch the deadliest poker cheat of all time: the Superuser.

3. Who or what inspired you to write?

I was inspired to write this thriller based on the real-life poker Superuser scandal, which I felt held deep themes of greed, violence, power, and redemption. My goal was to reflect these themes and the excitement of the scandal in a fast-paced thriller.

4. How do you come up with the Title and Cover Designs for your book/books?Who designed the Cover of your books?

My wife and co-author, Katie, had playing cards and red-dyed corn syrup on our kitchen table for almost a week creating this cover!

5. Have you ever based characters on people you know or based events on things that have happened to you?

Not directly, but several friends’ names were used for fun.

6. Is there a certain Author that influenced you in writing?

Michael Connelly, John Grisham, John Locke, and Simon Wood have all heavily influenced my fiction writing.

7. Which format of book do you prefer, ebook,hardback, or paperback?

Ebook!

8. What are you currently reading? Are you enjoying it? What format is it?(ebook, hardback or paperback)

I’m currently reading the indie thriller Toxicity on my Kindle after chatting with the author on an online forum. It’s a great police procedural so far.

9. What piece of advice would you give to a new writer?

Spend a lot of time outlining your characters and the plot before you begin writing. Also, have respect for your reader’s time. Particularly in the mystery/thriller genre, it’s vital to keep a fast pace.
